1 Peter 2:1-10

(1 Peter 2:1-10)

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,  Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

 

『Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: .』 It is to thoroughly abandon all the evils, lies, and wrong words of the heart. To do this, we must remember every day. Because Satan is trying to bring back memories of the past even to those who are born again. If you can abandon evil through your efforts, you don't need Christ. Therefore, unless we are dead with Jesus Christ, we cannot escape from evil, so the Bible says to be born again with Jesus. It is as if a child is born. It is said to yearn for pure and spiritual salted fish. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

『To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.』
First, the Bible tells us to come to the Lord. Then ask them to recognize and understand the Lord properly. Then, come to the Lord and ask them to know Jesus Christ, the precious mountain stone of God, and become a holy priest in the Lord. Regeneration is not looking at and believing in Jesus, but dying with Jesus to become a priest. To be united with Jesus, you must not look at the cross. You must go into the cross to become a priest in Christ.

In connection with the living stone, Peter quoted from the Old Testament Isaiah and the Psalms.『Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.』

Peter connects the living stone to the corner stone. corner stone is the head stone. It is a foundation stone that connects a wall that is bent at a right angle. Corner stones are essential stones to build a house. Peter says that living stone has become a rock that stumbles upon others and a stumbling stone. Peter's analogy of Jesus Christ as a living stone is a metaphorical reminder that the Lord is the foundation stone for life. Soon, it reminds us that true life comes from the Lord. And to unite together in Christ of life. Above all, as the priesthood did, he is calling everyone to the place of intercession and vocation to lead to Christ.

『But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.』

God's people are free from the dark spirit, Satan, just as God rescued the Israelites from Pharaoh's oppression. So, the saint enters into the holy light. Jesus Christ is the true light. If you do not go into Jesus Christ, you will not be in the light, you will be in the dark.
