1 Peter 1:1-2

(1 Peter 1:1-2) 『 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 』   1 Peter is a letter written by the apostle Peter around 65 AD, when Roman emperor Nero began to persecute Christianity in earnest. This letter is called the Letter of Hope or the Letter of Encouragement. Through this letter, Peter encourages the Saints in trouble to overcome the great persecution that will soon come, and encourages them to have bold faith and hope that will not be shaken by any hardships and temptations. 1 Peter 1: 3-4

  (1 Peter 1: 3-4)   Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,     “ hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection ” Because of Jesus' resurrection, those who are in Christ are born again. Christians lived in crypts, avoiding the persecution of the Roman Empire. Peter wrote a letter to them. They are persecuted by the world because they believe in Jesus. 1 Peter 1:23-25

  (1 Peter 1:23-25) 『 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.
