1 Peter 1:14-22

(1 Peter 1:14-22)

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:  But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;  Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,  Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

We have lived according to all kinds of greed because we didn't know anything before, but now we are obedient to the Word of God, so we must live away from greed. People who have been born again and become new people are those who abandon greed. A person who is full of greed cannot be a holy person because the Holy Spirit has no place in the heart. Satan cannot invade the born again. Because there is no greed to love the world. In 1 John 3:9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Be holy in every way. The reason we need to be holy is because the one who called us, God is holy. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. . Holiness is distinct from the world. Saints are not made holy by effort, but by being in Christ, they are holy. In Christ means to be separated from the world. To enter into Christ, the old man must die on the cross with Jesus.

Think in fear of the God who judges. The person who judges does not see the person in appearance, but judges each person according to his actions. It can be thought that there is a conflict between not looking at the appearance and judging according to actions. What God does not see in appearance is a state of spirit. Whether it has a spirit body. That is, those who have the spirit body have the fruit of repentance.
